Twitter Analysis
Twitter is known as a new communication device which is currently used by many people. It is categorized under the “social-networking” sites. Social Networking is most popular online but can be done in person, as well. It is the process of grouping people into certain groups. It’s linked to a mini-blogging system which seems to be an effective way to obtain information and current news. Also, it helps people to keep in touch with others such as celebrities, family members, long-lost neighbors, etc. Twitter is a completely “communicative-friendly” based website. Most users of the website seem to “love it” and “find it very addicting.” Twitter can be used for business purposes, social purposes, entertainment purposes, and for obtaining current or old news. The idea for Twitter was created by a man named Jack Dorsey.
In the business world, Twitter helps to keep a connection between them and their customers. You can find out people’s interests, or even current trends. If you have an idea, and you decide to post it, you can gain feedback and therefore create a better business. This helps to create a better business because you don’t have to put a product on the market without being one-hundred percent sure it will do well. You can be close to one-hundred percent sure with the use of Twitter. It allows for both the business and the consumer to share ideas, and obtain feedback.
In the social world, Twitter helps to bring back old friendships, remain up-to-date with a current family’s member, or even just a way for people to communicate. It allows for people being able to learn new things, search for different opportunities, and even meet people. Twitter is one of the few social-networking sites currently in use today.
For entertainment purposes, Twitter allows people to follow celebrities of all sorts, movies, TV shows, music, etc. For example, a widely followed upcoming movie, which is currently followed on Twitter, is “New Moon.” People are commenting on either how excited they are to see the movie, or how disgusted they are about this movie coming out.
For news purposes, Twitter can act as a newspaper, or even a news channel on television. Considering it’s very up-to-date with people following it every second of the day, it is effective. News channels such as CNN, and BNO are featured on Twitter. Twitter is an alternative way to view the news whether you’re on the go and don’t have a television nearby, or you want to check the news quickly. A big story featured on Twitter was the entire presidential election of Barack Obama.
Twitter has many purposes and is very effective. It is used by millions and millions of people and may be coming close to being one of the top social-networking sites.
